“Sit with a friend and chat awhile” is the new mantra at Sprowston Senior Citizens Club, thanks to a garden bench donated by Annington.
Annington, who recently launched a collection of two and three-bedroom homes for sale on Proctor Road and Archer Close in Sprowston, Norfolk, has provided the bench for members to enjoy in the club’s garden space.
The bench has been inscribed with the quote “sit with a friend and chat awhile” to encourage the members to socialise; whether it's taking a break from the sporting activities or simply enjoying some one-on-one time together during their weekly social meet ups.
Located just over a mile away from the available properties, Sprowston Senior Citizens Club is run by the town’s Senior Citizens Welfare Committee, and is open to anyone over the age of 55 living in Sprowston or neighbouring areas.
The timetable of activities for members includes snooker, short mat bowls and outdoors bowls, as well as a weekly social event, which includes entertainment, bingo and a raffle.
Wendy Rump, Chair of Sprowston Senior Citizens Club, said: “The club is a registered charity, so we run on membership fees, hire fees and donations from kind sponsors such as Annington. Our outdoor seating had become quite worn in recent years, so we’re thrilled to accept this donation of a new bench. I’m sure it will be eagerly used by the members to sit down and enjoy the gardens while enjoying a chat over a cup of tea.”
Stacy Whitehead, Marketing Manager for Annington, added: “The Sprowston Seniors Citizens Club is a wonderful neighbourhood led initiative run by and for the people of Sprowston. Working with groups that are doing valuable work locally to bring the community together is very important to us and we are pleased to support the club with this donation.”
Prices start from £265,000 for a two-bedroom home and are available immediately. For more information, or to book a viewing, contact the appointed sales agent Abbotts on 01603 630083.
