DONATION FROM ANNINGTON UNLOCKS SENSORY PLAYTIME IN WATTON

Annington is enriching playtime for children at Treetots Playgroup, a parent-run group in Watton, Norfolk. The company, who is refurbishing homes nearby on Tedder Close, has donated £300 to the playgroup to purchase new sensory resources.

The donation has gone towards purchasing sensory equipment for the playgroup, which provides weekday childcare sessions in the Blenheim Centre on Tedder Close for children aged 2-5 during term times. The children, who are learning sensory regulation for the first time, will use equipment to support in playtime, improving their ability to absorb and process information. The resources include a lightboard with translucent and two disco lights to offer a mix stimuli that encourage children to explore and develop their motor, communication and social skills in a relaxed and calming environment.

Heather Smart, owner of Treetots Playgroup commented: “As a parent-run organisation, our playgroup relies heavily on fundraising and donations to operate. Annington’s gift will help ensure that we can continue fostering a fun, quality learning environment for the children. I know the parents appreciate this donation, and I’m sure the children will love the new sensory equipment!”

Annington is undertaking refurbishment works across 15 homes in Watton, which were formerly used to house serving Armed Forces personnel in the village. The works include the provision of new front doors, floor coverings and fresh paintwork throughout. The homes will be brought up to standard and be made ready to sell on the open market this month.

Stacy Whitehead, Marketing Manager at Annington, added: “We are proud to partner with groups that are doing important work in local communities, and Treetots Playgroup is one of those organisations. We hope this donation helps them continue to promote a nurturing and fun learning environment for their children, offering a way to allow children to develop their senses in a safe and engaging way.

“We’re also excited to get involved in the local area in this project at Watton. This is a vibrant community, and we are grateful for the opportunity to give back. Since Treetots is one of our very close neighbours, we see this as the beginning of a long partnership with this wonderful organisation.”

Annington is currently refurbishing homes nearby to Treetots Playgroup’s base in Blenheim Centre on Tedder Close, with homes launching in September 2024.
