REFURBISHED RENTAL HOMES LAUNCH IN CARTERTON

Rents in Oxford have risen more over the last 12 months than in the rest of the South East, with private rent now costing an average of £1,789[1] per month. However, by moving just 20 miles outside of the city centre, tenants can save nearly £400 a month thanks to Annington, with its new collection of homes available to let at Norton Grove, Carterton in Oxfordshire.

Tucked into a quiet residential area just off Stanmore Crescent, these two, three and four-bedroom homes have been recently refurbished with brand new kitchens and benefit from integrated appliances, contemporary bathrooms, and new flooring throughout. Each pet-friendly home also has a generously sized private garden, and allocated parking.

Having been previously occupied by Armed Forces personnel serving at RAF Brize Norton, refurbishments have also addressed the efficiency of the homes with new features including double-glazed windows, insulated front doors and thermal rendering bringing the homes up to an EPC C rating.

Prospective tenants are encouraged to contact the letting agent, Chancellors to book a viewing on Saturday 22nd February at the Norton Grove open day.

Victoria Whitehouse, Private Rental Sector (PRS) Director at Chancellors, comments:
“The Home Counties and particularly Oxfordshire regularly top the wish list for those in search of rural pursuits without giving up access to amenities and employment opportunities, including travel links to London and of course access to the Cotswold’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

In addition to making the homes more energy efficient to reduce utility bills, Annington is offering tenants a zero-deposit scheme*, making it easier to move.

The town of Carterton is home to a tight-knit community situated on the quieter outskirts of the desirable Cotswold’s, where tenants will be surrounded by rolling fields and countryside, interspersed with picturesque villages built out of traditional honey-coloured stone. Oxford is just a 40-minute drive to the east, enabling easy access and commuting links into the city.

The latest launch is the first time that Annington has returned to Carterton since 2021, having previously brought to market 135 new homes on the site of disused Ministry of Defence housing nearby, on Stanmore Crescent.

Stacy Whitehead, Marketing Manager at Annington, added: “Annington is returning to Carterton to deliver a selection of unique homes to the rental market, which we expect to be popular among those struggling to keep up with Oxford’s increasingly expensive rental demands. These homes will provide an excellent opportunity for tenants looking to relocate to villages and small towns outside of Oxford, while still having convenient access to city living, at a much more attractive price point.

“We have completely refurbished these homes with modern day living in mind featuring brand-new kitchens and bathrooms, allowing tenants to enjoy contemporary living against an idyllic rural backdrop.”

Located within walking distance of Carterton town centre, the area has developed exponentially thanks, in part, to its proximity to the local air base, the largest in operation by the Royal Air Force and a major local employer. Now Carterton is a bustling market town with a busy high street, home to independent shops and restaurants, alongside major supermarkets Aldi, Asda and Morrisons.

Prices for Annington’s rental homes in Carterton will start at £1,400 per calendar month for a two-bedroom home.
