Did you know that almost half of home owners over 55 say they don’t want to move house again once they reach retirement? Well, no one told Brenda Preskett. This octogenarian bucked the trend by relocating across the country to Hampshire, for a fresh start in a wonderful new home.
Brenda spent the first lockdown in her two-bedroom apartment. But having no garden and limited space meant she felt cooped up. That’s when she made the brave decision to look for a new home.
The property that caught her eye was located at Woodland View, a friendly little estate in Bordon, Hampshire, not too far away from her son. We’d completely refurbished the house with a new kitchen, bathroom, boiler and insulation refit. Plus there was a garden for her to work her magic on. It was a no-brainer for Brenda, who loved the convenience of a stress-free move to somewhere that ticked all the boxes. “It was a weight off my shoulders knowing that Annington had already done the work for me,” Brenda told us. “I could walk straight into my new home.”
Today, Brenda is happy and loving the community spirit she’s discovered at Woodland View. And the mix of ages, including young couples and families, is making sure Brenda stays young at heart!
